I am immensely grateful for the visionary work in Architecture and Design, because I am deeply convinced that changing the principle of the environments in which we live, has the power to transform our brains and to the larger extent, the principles of the societies we live in. We now, more than ever need a more naturalistic approach to our life styles. An approach that should take under consideration the intricate relations between the social, economical and political systems. "Humans indeed have a strong biological affinity with nature and a sense of dependence on it. Stephen R. Kellert (1943-2016), professor of social ecology at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, was a pioneer in articulating and implementing the principles of the biophilia of the environment, encouraging the adoption of biophilic design." Let's all be biophiles!#architecture #environment #design

Discover the wonders of Decompaction in Landscape Design!🌿1️⃣ Enhanced Soil Aeration: Decompaction loosens the soil, allowing better airflow and oxygen penetration to the plant roots. This promotes healthier growth, nutrient absorption, thanks to a better environment for Soil Biology and reduces the risk of waterlogging.2️⃣Improve Drainage: Compact soil can be resistant to water absorption, leading to run-off and wastage. By decompacting soil, drainage can be improved by up to 10 times over soil with poor Soil Biology.3️⃣ Root Development Boost: When soil is compacted, roots struggle to penetrate and expand. Decompaction opens up pathways for roots to spread, enabling plants to establish stronger, more resilient foundation.4️⃣ Mitigates Erosion: Healthy soil supports better plant growth that helps stabilise the ground, reducing erosion risks and preserving your landscape’s integrity.5️⃣ Enhanced Nutrient Circulation: Uncompacted soil allows nutrients to move freely, reaching plant roots effectively. This encourages lush, vibrant vegetation and fosters a thriving ecosystem.6️⃣ Increased Biodiversity: As your landscape becomes healthier and more conductive to growth, you’ll witness a surge in biodiversity with various plant species and beneficial insects etc enjoying their improved home.7️⃣ Aesthetic Appeal: Aside from the functional advantages, decompaction enhances the overall beauty of your landscape. Healthier, happier plants create a visually stunning and inviting environment for all.8️⃣ Reduced Maintenance: Healthier plants are more resilient and require less maintenance. With decompaction, you’ll spend less time on upkeep and more time admiring your flourishing landscape.Interested in understanding how decompaction can help in your landscape design?☎️ Call 01277 849990 today#decompaction #rootprotection #airspade #aeration #vogt #soilprobe #maturetrees #nature #landscape #horticulture #environment #sustainability #green #ruskins #soilfoodweb #carbonstorage #drainage

Internal HYVERT installations with regulated/warmer temperatures mean we can use different plant species to those located externally. And in this example which is currently reaching maturity at our nursery, the warmerindoor environment meant we were able to use small palm plants (or 'Chamaedorea Elegans' to give them their botanical name!) 🌿However, even though indoor temperatures will be regulated, the LUX level (lighting intensity) will usually be less due to a building’s UV filtered glass and its environmental lighting conditions. 🏙For this reason, we can also install our HYVERT lighting system which will simulate the ideal 4000 LUX required. And the use of linear or track systems too means HYVERT can grow and thrive in any situation.🌿Get in touch if you’d like us to design and install a bespoke internal HYVERT living wall for your next project. 📧 ruby@iwantplants.co.uk#livingwall #biophilia #indoorplants #greenspaces #wellbeing #IWantPlants #HYVERT #Manchester
