The not-so-secret ingredient in this easy recipe is the pre-made pizza crust dough from Pillsbury. I use it in our Pizza Bun Recipe too and love how quickly I can whip up a delicious recipe with it!!

How to Make Christmas Tree Cinnamon Rolls:

Tip: I love how using Pillsbury crust cuts out so much of the last minute prep work, but if you prefer, homemade pizza dough totally works for this recipe as well.

Instructions:

1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, sugar and cinnamon.

3. Open the can of pizza crust dough and spread it into a long rectangle on a floured surface. Use a pizza cutter to divide dough into two large triangles.

4. Line a large baking sheet with a piece of parchment paper.

5. Place a large triangle of pizza dough on the cookie sheet.

6. Spread the cinnamon mixture over the dough, leaving the edges uncovered.

7. Place the second dough triangle over the cinnamon layer of the first triangle of dough. Press the edges together.

Tip: reserve any excess dough that there may be from the top or edges to create tree stump or star shape for the top.

8. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut slices into each side of the dough tree about two inches into the tree and one inch apart.

9. Twist each of these pieces a few times to create breadsticks.

10. Melt butter and then brush over the entire tree. Add a sprinkle of sugar if desired.

11. Place the prepared baking sheet into the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top and cooked through on the bottom.

12. In a small bowl mix powdered sugar and milk to create an icing glaze. Drizzle this over the entire tree shaped baked bread.

13. Serve warm. Guests can pull each cinnamon stick from the tree as they would like.
