You most likely have all the ingredients for this easy cream cheese fruit dip in your pantry. That is except for the Heath Bar Chocolate English Toffee bits.

*Cream Cheese – any brand of cream cheese will do, but I prefer Philadelphia cream cheese. The important thing is that it’s at room temperature before you use it. Low-fat cream cheese is more likely to make your fruit dip lumpy, so I recommend using full-fat instead.

*Brown Sugar – for the best flavor you will want light brown sugar.

*Vanilla – imitation vanilla extract will not work in this recipe. It does not have the same rich flavor as real vanilla extract. I recommend using real vanilla extract. If you can find it, Mexican vanilla extract is a great option. It has a deeper, more complex flavor than other types of vanilla extract.

*Lemon Juice – while fresh lemon juice is the best option, bottled lemon juice can still be used to add a slight tartness to the fruit dip to balance out the sweetness and keep it tasting fresh.

*Health Milk Chocolate English Toffee Bits – these are usually found near the chocolate chips in the grocery store. These are also completely optional and the easiest ingredient to exchange for variations of flavor. You can use just toffee bits, or mini chocolate chips, or even peanut butter chips. There are a lot of options. Or just leave it out completely for a smooth rich texture.

💭 Tips & FAQs

Can this fruit dip be made ahead?

This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. Simply combine the ingredients, chill, and serve when ready.

Can I double this fruit dip recipe?

YES! Doubling and even tripling this recipe works well. It’s especially beneficial if you are planning for a larger party. This is quick to make, make a day ahead, and store in the fridge until ready to serve.

How do you soften Cream cheese?

To soften cream cheese quickly, cut the block of cream cheese into quarters lengthwise.Cube the cream cheese into small pieces. The smaller the cubes, the faster they will soften. Spread the cubes out on a cutting board or plate, making sure they are not touching.Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about an hour, or until it is soft to the touch. You can also use a microwave to soften cream cheese. Place the cream cheese on a microwave-safe plate and microwave it on high for 10-15 seconds, or until it is soft to the touch. You can also place the cream cheese in a bowl of warm water for 10-15 minutes, or until it is soft to the touch.

How do you get lumps out of fruit dip?

If your cream cheese dip is lumpy, it’s probably because the cream cheese wasn’t soft enough. This is an easy fix! Just let the mixture sit out at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, then beat with a hand mixer again to work the lumps out. Lumps are also more likely to occur if you use low-fat cream cheese. I recommend using full-fat cream cheese for the best results.

How do you serve bananas on a fruit tray?

Cut the bananas into bite-sized pieces and arrange them on a fruit platter. To prevent them from browning, dip the slices in lemon juice or pineapple juice before adding them to the platter.

How much fruit do I need for my guests?

The amount of fruit you need will vary depending on the type of event. For receptions and teas, 1/2 cup per person is a good starting point. For buffet meals or self-service, you may need more, up to 3/4 cup per person. If you have other dipping snacks on your serving platter, you may not need as much fruit. Consider the other foods that will be available and adjust the amount of fruit you serve accordingly.
